I’m excited no, thrilled to tell you about the launch of my business, Handspring Marketing, LLC.  Announcing this launch is part of an exciting time and comes after a few other changes in my personal life. I’ll post about my journey soon, but for now, I give you 🥁🥁🥁Handspring’s first blog – A Handspring Hello 👋 Here’s a little about who we are:

The Mission and Vision: My mission is simple – make marketing easy and enjoyable.  

I specialize in decoding complex marketing jargon and breaking marketing down into simplified, actionable steps.  I already know that I can do this because I have broken down what enterprise software can do for my customers for years: presenting, educating, and demonstrating how they could use new technology.  Complexity is my jam!  

My vision is to take what I learned at an enterprise level and re-jigger that to lead independent business owners to enterprise-level success.  I know independent business owners do what they do because they are good at what they do, so if I can take on the marketing side for them because that’s what I’m good at doing, I can be a part of their success and leave them to do the amazing work they do.

The Market of Marketing: I looked at all the different facets of marketing offered to independent business owners.  Marketing is a saturated market that bogs down those looking for help with so many different offerings and terms that it can be overwhelming to figure out what you need and are getting.   Additionally, there is a vast array of marketing channels; we’re no longer talking about a couple of newspaper ads. This is an era of social media platforms, posts, reels, and videos. So what does that mean for you?

Simplify, Simplify, Optimize: I crafted my service offerings based on three very unique types of clients.  

  • The start-up that is trying to announce to the world, “I’m here! and I’m ready!” (I feel you!)  They know that they need marketing. But, it’s likely they don’t have a marketing budget and might not know what they don’t know.  The busy business owner for whom they are keeping the wheels on their marketing bus, but it is difficult to look up from their day-to-day to know what else they should be doing to improve leads. 
  • The business owner who is plugging along great, but knows they might be missing opportunities. They fear they might be missing out on great customers, but they just don’t have the time to dedicate to evaluating and updating their marketing program.  My three offers will center on education, hybrid, and full support. 

Client-centric approach: The success of Handspring Marketing is tied to the success of my clients.  I have packages designed to start as a base and then configure for each business.   I am dedicated to fostering strong, long-term relationships by prioritizing open communication transparency and understating each client’s unique challenges and goals.  

Why the name  Handspring? As I assembled marketing programs and data for my future clients, I wanted a fun name that sparked creativity.  Marketing is a creative endeavor that exists so that businesses attract buyers for their goods and services. 

When I surveyed friends and family about what they envisioned when I said, “Handspring”, there were so many different responses!  Some people pictured hands playing with a slinky (remember those!), others thought of hands and a creek.   Many of us, myself included, pictured the Olympics and gymnasts doing backflips across a mat.  I wanted a name that brings fun to mind, sounds approachable, and is about hard work; all of these images do that.  Regardless of what you envisioned when you thought of Handspring, here is my goal: To take what might feel impossible and make it easy to execute.  Marketing and working together to make new content should be natural and fun.  Lastly, doing a Handspring isn’t easy, but I’ll be a part of your team and help you do backflips all of the way across the mat. And no, I never did gymnastics; I was a rough-and-tumble soccer player for about a decade.
